Repair order
The controlled record for a job on a vehicle that captures the customer's concern, the work lines, parts, labour, findings and authorisations.
Comeback
A vehicle that returns with the same concern within 90 days of a repair, treated as a quality failure and investigated.
Depower
The manufacturer sequence for isolating the high-voltage system of a hybrid or electric vehicle so that it is safe to work on.
Lifting points
The locations on a vehicle's underbody specified by the manufacturer where hoist pads and jacks must be placed.
Pre-delivery inspection
The documented check of a new or used vehicle before it is handed to a customer, covering safety, presentation and paperwork.
Certificate of roadworthiness
A certificate issued by a licensed vehicle tester confirming that a vehicle meets the minimum safety standard for registration or sale.
Statutory warranty
The warranty a licensed motor car trader must give on a used vehicle under Victorian law, depending on the vehicle's age and kilometres.
Safety data sheet
The manufacturer's document for a hazardous chemical that describes its hazards, safe handling, storage, first aid and disposal.
Cycle count
A rolling count of a section of stock bins so that every bin is counted at least once a quarter without closing the warehouse.
Vehicle-off-road order
A parts order flagged as urgent because the customer's vehicle cannot be driven until the part arrives.
